Michelle Gott, a native of Las Vegas, is a dynamic performer of both standard and
contemporary harp music. In April 2006, Michelle debuted at Carnegie Hall playing a
new concerto by Los Angeles composer, Kevin Kaska. She has also soloed with the
Henry Mancini Institute Chamber Orchestra and at the Bowdoin International Music
Festival. As a member of the New Juilliard Ensemble and the AXIOM Contemporary
Music Ensemble, Michelle regularly performs works by 20th century and
contemporary composers, such as Harrison Birtwistle and Virko Baley. She has also
worked closely with composer, Ursula Mamlok, and performed her Music for Viola
and Harp in 2006 for the Ursula Mamlok Festival at the Manhattan School of Music
and Juilliard's Focus Festival. In January of 2007, Michelle performed Ravel’s
Introduction et Allegro for Juilliard’s Chamberfest. Michelle was a winner of both the
2004 and 2006 Anne Adams Award, a prizewinner of the 2005 American Harp
Society National Competition, and a winner of the 2004 International Jazz and Pop
Harpfest Competition. Michelle graduated from Juilliard in May 2007 with her
Bachelor’s of Music in Harp Performance, as a student of Nancy Allen, and received
the honor of the Peter Mennin Prize. She will continue her graduate studies at
Juilliard this September. Before commencement of her Juilliard career, Michelle
studied with her mother, Caryn Wunderlich Gott.
